Who We Are

Why we’re here.

In the Adirondacks, the weather doesn’t ask for permission. It doesn’t negotiate.

The three of us grew up in a landscape defined by sheets of grey rain, sharp winds that cut through layers, and a cold that settles deep into your bones before you’ve even reached the trailhead. We learned early on a truth that has stayed with us ever since: out there, if your gear can’t handle the elements, neither can you.

pluvia was born from this shared reality.

It wasn't sparked by a business plan or a trend—it was forged through years of just trying to get through the day. We spent our lives on long walks through empty streets and on trails that turned into rivers, experiencing the kind of weather that keeps most people inside. We looked for gear that reflected how we actually lived—pieces that were technically uncompromising but felt human—and we couldn't find it. So, we set out to build it ourselves.

It’s okay to want to disappear.

We’re three people who found our greatest clarity outside. Not always in the sunshine, but in the quiet. In those heavy, rhythmic moments where it’s just you, your thoughts, and the sound of rain on a hood.

There is a modern pressure to always be "on," always reachable, and always part of the noise. We’re here to tell you thatit’s okay to want to be away from society. It is okay—and sometimes necessary—to be alone in the wilderness.

For the ones who seek the quiet

We didn't build pluvia for the masses; we built it for you. We built it for the thinkers, the walkers, and the people who feel a strange sense of relief when the clouds roll in and the streets empty out.

To us, you aren't just a customer; you are someone who "gets it." You’re the person who knows that the best views aren't always at the summit—sometimes they’re found in the mist of a Tuesday afternoon when the rest of the world is huddled indoors. We create for those of us who find comfort in the solitude that a downpour provides.

Our promise to you:

  • built-in silence: our gear is designed for movement. No loud swishing, no unnecessary bulk—just the quiet utility you need to focus on your thoughts, not your layers.
  • uncompromising protection: every seam, zipper, and fabric choice is born from our Adirondack roots. If it can't survive a mountain storm, it doesn't carry the pluvia name.
  • the freedom to stay out: we want to make the outside accessible exactly when your mind needs it most. Whether you're miles into the backcountry or just walking the block to clear your head, we provide the armor you need to stay out as long as you need to.

Come find your clarity

Our gear exists to support your experience. To keep you moving when the conditions turn. To ensure that when you head out to find your clarity, your equipment is the last thing on your mind.

We aren't here to help you "conquer" nature. We’re here to help you exist within it. We want to remind you that stepping away isn't isolation—it's restoration. Whether you're navigating a coastal trail or a rain-slicked city grid, pluvia is built for your quietest moments.
